A Professional goal for the 2004/2004 school term for Betty Gilgoff.


Goal:

To work with students, staff, the university community and the larger education community to learn about, support and foster youth leadership through activities and course work at the University Transition Program.


Learning Activities/Strategies:

  • Model a leadership role throught the Youth Symposium Think Tank sponsored by the LMGC group.
  • Involve students in the Think Tank and the Youth Symposium through work in Self and Society.
  • Learn about Leadership groups and activities.
  • Support University Transition Students who choose to take on Leadership roles in the program and the larger school district.
  • Investigate Youth Leadership in the community.
  • Sponsor speaker on Youth Leadership.

  • Transition student involvment in the Youth Symposium
  • Initiative taken by Transition Students
  • Notes about Leadership possibilities
  • Leadership opportunities through the mentorship program.
  • Feedback from students and staff.
