Project Guide

The following information was developed for use by project directors and administrators. It is meant to provide support and scaffolding for designing and implementing a KEEP Toolkit project. It includes some basic instructions for getting started with your project and some helpful tips to ensure effective progress and outcomes. It also includes a template for a workshop or orientation guide that might be provided to project participants to learn more about the KEEP Toolkit and your specific project

GET STARTED: 1. Design  2. Create   3. Introduce   4. Manage

The first step in designing your KEEP Toolkit project is to design the Snapshot template(s) to be used by program participants. The following document provides some guidance for getting this process started: download PDF
See examples of effective templates: HHMI, MERLOT, CID
The program participants can all register at www.cfkeep.org or you can create accounts for them. Once you have the template ready to share with the participants, you can send it to their KEEP Toolkit accounts using the "Send To" tool. Check the checkbox next to the title of the template from your "My Dashboard" page and click the "Send To" icon. Here you can enter the email addresses of the participants’ accounts and when you click "Submit" a copy of the template will be sent to their accounts. Creating KEEP Toolkit accounts for all program participants will ensure that you have the correct account information for all participants. However, when you have created an account for a participant, they will receive a confirmation email. If you plan to create accounts for your project participants, be sure to alert them of this before creating the accounts.
If you are going to give participants an orientation to the KEEP Toolkit, all of the information in the Help section of the website is extremely useful. The Quick Start Guide provides an overview of all of the KEEP Toolkit functionality and the FAQs cover more detailed technical issues. You may also choose to provide the following "KEEP Toolkit Workshop Guide" to participants. This document is provided in Rich Text Format so you can edit it to fit your needs: download workshop guide.
In order to manage program participants progress you may want to set up some intermediate deadlines to make sure that the work is progressing as expected. Additionally, you might choose to post links to the participants’ snapshots into a simple web page gallery.
