Within Planning and Writing: Revising . . . "Revising"

Although the "Planning and Writing" section of the Cyberia Activity Guide contains many "Layers of Learning," several factors motivated us to begin with "Revising" as a model for future faculty and student contributions to the project. For one, most of Cyberia's users are in a portfolio-driven basic skills course in which revision is strongly emphasized, so revision has been part of an ongoing discussion. Of course this site is a living document, undergoing revision regularly. And on a whole other level of revision, the Cyberia classroom-lab has been undergoing major revision, including new computers and a new layout. Where would any of us be without revision?

BEFORE

In the helpful yet stultified Cyberia Activity Form, the recommended programs and Web resources are simply listed. Set in a gridlocked table lacking contextual guidance and an awareness of teaching and learning at CCSF, the information remains vegetative. "Revising" is just one dull line.

AFTER

Still a work in progress, the "Revising" section of the Cyberia Activity Guide offers several interactive, contextual improvements over the somewhat stagnant listing in the Cyberia Activity Form. The Guide's other "Layers of Learning" will follow a similar model.
