  • Exam I Reactions

Jeff: I thought this first exam was difficult and coupled with the case narrative created a bit of stress on the team. I think it is important for us to clear up any communication problems we have. But, I feel as a team we came together and worked very well.

Camille: I was very pleased with our team's performance on the first exam. We did a very good job of coming together so we could perform our best.

Emily: I found the first exam challenging, but at the same time it was nice to get a feel for how the rest of the exams will be. I think our team worked very well together during the team portion of the exam. I also think that now having taken the first exam we are all more aware of how to study for this class and how to succeed throughout the rest of the semester.

Kara:I think we did well working as a team for the exam and ended up doing really well.

    Exam II Reactions

Jeff: I was upset with myself for not studying more for the second exam. I did not realize that I was still unclear on some of the concepts until after. Thankfully my teammates helped me out on the group part.

Camille: I thought that this exam was a lot trickier than the first. I found that I ran out of time because I kept overthinking some of the questions.

Emily: I found the second exam to be much tricker than the first. I felt like I just studied some of the wrong concepts based on the questions on the exam. But, having had this experience on this exam, I know that I need to prepare myself better for then next exam.

Kara:This one was a little trickier. I thought there were some questions that could be argued for a couple different answers. Will have to prepare differently for the next one.

    Case Presentation

We used a video and graphics to cover the key physiological concepts that were covered this semester. The case began with an overweight gentlemen having signs and symptoms of congestive heart failure. We tied his myocardial infarction from a year prior to the physical and vitals taken at the hospital to make a preliminary diagnosis. Further exams and their expected results for a patient in his condition were given. A blood and urine analysis, electrocardiogram, and chest x-ray were the primary tools we used to confirm the initial diagnosis. We prescribed the recommended medicinal treatment for CHF and concluded our case presentation by reviewing the key physiological aspects involved.

    Exam III Reactions

Jeff: I felt better prepared for this exam than the previous and consequently felt more comfortable contributing during the team portion. I think we as a team did a good job of analyzing each case based solely on the information given. Hopefully we continue to improve in our understanding and teamwork for the next exams.

Camille: Out of the three exams we have had, I felt the least prepared for this one. Since I had to write the case narrative, I didn't have as much time to study as my other team members and I think this was reflected in my score.

Emily: I definitley felt more prepared for this exam. Going into it I was more clear on the key concepts than I felt I was on the previous exam.

Kara: I felt pretty prepared for this exam. But again, I thought there were a couple questions that could be argued for a couple different answers. We did well working together as a team.

    EXAM IV REACTIONS

Jeff: I wish we would have met to review as a team before this exam. I think we could have cleared up some of the questions we had during the exam if we had done so. I know I was still unclear on a few concepts going into it.

Emily: I had the least time to study for this exam, however I felt very confident in my knowledge of the material. I also think we worked very well as a team on the group portion of the exam. Every exam we seemed to get a little better at working together as a team, this last exam definitely seemed to be the best teamwork we have had.

Kara: I didn't have time to study for this exam like I should have, but I felt that overall I understood the concepts, just made a few stupid mistakes. I should have figured out what P50 was!!

Camille: This exam couldn't have fallen at a worse time for me!!! However, considering the circumstances, I suppose it could have been worse. If I would have had more time to study I know I wouldn't have made some of the silly mistakes that I did.
