Things and resources we found to be helpful throughout the semester-

* We heart ADAM and JOE!!!!!!!!! :) :) -going to office hours as much as possible is really helpful. This helps us get an idea about the case narrative and directs our studying before the test. Adam and Joe are really good at explaining everything at a slower pace than what we learn in class. If we cannot get it the first time, we will usually understand it after office hours.

*Each other- we found that using each other as a resource is really helpful. Everyone has different backgrounds, whether it be in classes or previous experiences, and when we get together as a group to study it is really helpful. If one person cannot explain something, then some one else usually can.

*Our book and its website- this is really important tool. We usually all study and read the book before we study with each other. This way we are all pretty much on the same page when talking and discussing the material and case narratives.

Aaron Watters

I am currently a senior from Noblesville, Indiana. I am a biology major and I am starting at IU school of Medicine in August. I am currently a member of Beta Theta Pi and I am an Undergraduate Teaching Instructor for molecular biology this semester.

Motor Vehicle vs. Bike

Scenario:

A car traveling down the street at approximately 30 mph ran a stop sign and hit an IU student who was training for the Little 500. The student, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from his bike approximately 20 feet. Shortly after the accident, the EMS found the victim with a cracked helmet, unconscious, and bleeding profusely from her leg. Upon examination they determined that the cyclist had a femur fracture. She was stabilized in the field and quickly transported to Bloomington Hospital where further medical attention could be given. At the hospital, x-rays were taken along with labs.
