Revised Needs Statement: With fossil fuel dependency and environmental impact at the forefront of current societal issues, a goal for a more energy-efficient and environmentally-friendly propulsion system for watercraft has been recognized. In following this goal, as well as the current trend of personal watercraft for anglers, there is a need for a one-person watercraft that is tailored toward anglers and utilizes both mechanical and human power. This watercraft must be safe, energy-efficient, environmentally-friendly, reliable, and lightweight while demonstrating appropriate speed, endurance, and utility.

Team Operating Procedures:

Agenda: The agenda for each meeting will be established at the end of the previous meeting. Kevin Hardin will post that agenda on the team's web forum for reference purposes. The posted agenda will be updated in the case of additional assignments being assigned in class on the days between meetings.

Attendance: Occasional absences are understandable and inevitable. If a person is not going to be at the meeting, they must tell another team member and/or post a notice on the team's web forum. Meetings will begin at their scheduled times and when majority of those expected to attend have arrived. Major decisions may only be made if five or more team members are present.

Frequency: Meetings will be held on a "needs" basis. The meeting time will be decided in class when it is apparent that the team must meet. The team’s web forum will be used to schedule any meetings that were not established in class. Meetings will be held in the 2nd floor computer lab of Stocker Center. The 4th floor computer lab of Stocker Center will serve as the "back-up" meeting location.

Decision Process: Decisions will be made according to a team consensus. Topics for decision will be discussed until a consensus has been reached. Once a consensus has been reached and the decision made, all members of the team agree to support the decision.

Minutes and Recording: Alicia Konczol will be the official recorder for the team's meetings. Her responsibilities will be to record the topics of discussion and team decisions and to catalog the dates and times of each meeting.

Leader Role: No formal leaders will be assigned. Natural leaders will emerge as time passes and assignments vary.

Behavior Norms: Common courtesy will be practiced at all times. All ideas that are presented in meetings will be acknowledged and not simply "shot down." Team members will not interrupt a person who is speaking. If a conflict arises between two or more team members, the other team members will resolve the conflict as quickly as possible through discussion.

Confidentiality: The ideas presented in meetings will be kept confidential among the team members. However, the confidentiality facilitated by competitive aspects of the senior design course must be balanced with the need to interact with the other teams. Each team member will use their own discretion in deciding what information to share with other teams.

Meeting Minutes: Our group has its own webpage that we are using for communication. On this website we already have minutes from our meetings posted. You are welcome to visit our website and browse the public section which includes minutes, contact info and announcments.
